Meeta Mistry

European Patent Attorney

Meeta Mistry is a European Patent Attorney with an honours degree in biochemistry from King’s College London. She began her career in private practice, working for another firm of patent attorneys in Wales. She then spent twelve years in industry, where she first worked for a global agricultural biotechnology company in The Netherlands and later set up and headed the IP department of a biotechnology start-up company in Belgium, which was subsequently acquired by a global chemical company. 

Meeta has particular experience in the fields of functional genomics, genome sequence applications, enabling technologies and the protection of technology platforms. She has worked on patent filing and prosecution, opinion work, due diligence matters, and contract drafting and review. Given Meeta’s background, she is well placed to guide start-up companies, research institutes, universities and multinational corporations, and is always keen to help find creative solutions for protecting IP assets.
